ABOUT JACK

Hello everyone. We shouldn’t have to settle when choosing leaders to protect us. Nor should we keep those who pretend to be the answer to our problems. The stakes are too high.

EXPERIENCED LAW ENFORCEMENT
ON YOUR SIDE

My name is Jack Redlinger, and I'm running for the position of Henry County Sheriff. I am committed to serving and protecting the residents of this county with unwavering dedication. Henry County has been our home for the past 24 years, where my family and I have built our lives. In addition, we were business owners in the county for 16 years.

Family plays a crucial role in all our lives. It’s been 35 years since I exchanged vows with Michelle, and our journey together has been filled with countless cherished memories. It brings me great joy to be the father of Amber, Ashlynd, and Kyle. The most recent addition to our family is our precious granddaughter, Ava Jane. In the pursuit of a high office in law enforcement, nothing holds more weight than proven experience, leadership, and character.

Since 1982, I have held the position of a mandated Law Enforcement Officer in the state of Georgia. Throughout the past 41 years, I have dedicatedly served with both the Atlanta Police Department and the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, witnessing the evolution of law enforcement. With the Atlanta Police Department, I was part of the REDDOG Narcotics Strike Force and Undercover Field Investigations Team in Zone 2 & 3 precincts. I also had experience in Hostage Negotiations with the Special Operations Section and served as a Motorcycle Officer, responsible for managing traffic, handling special events, and providing protection during dignitary/presidential visits. At the Newton County Sheriff's Office, I hold multiple roles including supervisor of the Traffic, Motors, and H.E.A.T unit, as well as being the lead Hostage Negotiator and Public Information Officer.

I have accumulated more than 3000 hours of training in leadership, supervision, and tactical skills from various local, state, and federal organizations. At Columbus State University, I've completed the Command College program and achieved supervisory levels 1, 2, and 3. For the past 40 years, I have been actively involved in supervising and mentoring others as part of my professional commitment. Strong is not only my style of leadership, but also the word that best describes my experience.

I have a long history of collaborating and partnering with the community, starting with my outreach and mentorship work with kids back at the Atlanta Police Athletic League. That commitment has spanned over 41 years and is most recently evident in my work with C.H.A.M.P.S in Newton County.

I don't belong to the categories of preachers, celebrities, or politicians. I won't waste your time with empty promises or false assurances. The saying "What you see is what you get" holds true in this situation. I firmly uphold the principle of doing what is morally right and will prioritize this as the foundation for my decision-making as Henry County Sheriff. There is a pressing need for a strong leader at the sheriff's office. Without strong leadership, failure is inevitable. Growing up, I had the privilege of being the son of not just one, but two US Marines, which greatly influenced my upbringing and values. With exceptional role models and a front row seat to witness the principles of strong leadership in action, I had a unique opportunity to learn about character at an early age. My leadership, combined with the men and women of the Sheriff's Office, will work towards achieving our identified goals and programs for the benefit of all Henry County citizens.
